Of all dog breeds, akita is the one breed that is hard to get through rescue orginizations, most rescues will lots of other dogs though.
There are many colors of the coat of the dog. The most rare are white, brindle, but any color is acceptable. They are huge and agile dogs that can live outside thanks to their warm double coat but they also prefer to be with the family as they are human-oriented.

The dog has a distinctive double coat the one is an undercoat and is soft and short that serves as an insulator and it may differ by color from the color of the outer coat that is longer and coarser. The coat sheds once or twice a year and at that time the hair will be everywhere.
