These are family-oriented dogs that are happy with the family. They will always fallow you everywhere and will protect you always. They may be aggressive towards the strangers and other animals of the same gender. You must not allow your animal to roam about without your observation. With the akita's intellegence and trainability they are not often found in rescues as an abandoned dog.
